Heart Attack

A heart attack (also called acute myocardial infarction, or AMI) occurs when the arteries leading to the heart become blocked, depriving the heart of oxygen. 

Heart Attack Patients Given... 

  • ACE Inhibitor or ARB for Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction (LVSD)
  • Aspirin at Arrival
  • Aspirin at Discharge
  • Beta Blocker at Arrival
  • Beta Blocker at Discharge
  • Smoking Cessation Advice/Counseling.

Heart Failure

Heart failure occurs when the heart struggles to pump enough blood to deliver oxygen to the body. 

Heart Failure Patients Given…

  • ACE Inhibitor or ARB for Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction (LVSD)
  • Evaluation of Left Ventricular Systolic (LVS) Function
  • Discharge Instructions
  • Smoking Cessation Advice/Counseling


Pneumonia is a severe lung infection that causes breathing difficulty, fever cough, and fatigue. 

Pneumonia Patients Assessed and Given…

  • Influenza Vaccination.
  • Pneumococcal Vaccination.

Pneumonia Patients Given… 

  • Initial Antibiotic(s) within Six Hours after Arrival.
  • Smoking Cessation Advice/Counseling.


Surgery Patients who…

  • Received Preventive Antibiotic(s) One hour Before Incision.
  • Discontinued their Indwelling Foley Catheter Postoperative day one or two.
  • Doctors Ordered Treatments to Prevent Blood Clots (Venous Thromboembolism).
  • Preventive Antibiotic(s) are stopped within 24 hours after Surgery.
  • Were kept on Beta Blockers before and after surgery.
