Registered Nurse (LDRP)
Under the supervision of the Perinatal Nursing Director. Plans, coordinates and implements patient care for primarily obstetrical, gynecological, newborn patients. Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice. Remains flexible to changing systems. Supports other nursing units by floating when needed after appropriate orientation. Treats patients, families, visitors, peers and physicians with consideration and respect. Hours between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. paid an additional $3.50 shift differential.
Education: Current State of California Registered Nursing license. Successfully completes OB Risk Initiative assignments, as directed, upon determined deadline.
Certifications: BLS, NRP required. o Completion of (AWHONN) or (ACOG) endorsed Advanced Fetal Monitoring class that includes National Institute of Child Health Development (NICHD) nomenclature within three months of hire, to be renewed every two years.
Experience: At least 1 year of Med/Surg previous experience in the acute care setting preferred. Previous Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery experience preferred. Past work experience appropriate to current position may be evaluated.
Current knowledge of the care of the OB/GYN and newborn patient. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Computer skills preferred. Exhibits the ability to organize work assignments and follow through with accuracy. Exercises good judgment, demonstrates initiative, emotional stability, tact and poise.
