Job Description

Works under the supervision of the Floor Technician Supervisor who reports to the Director of Environmental Services. Operate heavy equipment such as carpet machines, floor machines and vacuums. Performs routine floor care, including, but not limited to scrubbing, refinishing and buffing of floor surfaces. After initial training on the job, the employee is responsible for following standard procedures in maintaining an assigned area. Must follow work schedules and established policies and procedures. Must work well under stress and tight deadlines. Must work well with supervisors, co-workers, residents, family members and visitors.

Preferred Skills

Education: None required but High School diploma or equivalent is preferred. Experience: Have recent successful structured work experience, related work experience preferred. Certifications: valid California Class “C” Drivers License and insurable by the District’s vehicle insurer. Skills/Ability: Understand, follow and implement written, verbal or demonstrated instruction; Perform heavy work, exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, exert up to 50 pounds of force frequency exert up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grip, grasp; Perform repetitive motions on a regular basis; Use appropriate safety precautions and procedures.
