Job Description

This position provides higher levels of skill for the delivery of resident care services. CNA II’s are often used as Restorative CNAs. Performs tasks listed in the Certified Nurse Assistant position description and tasks in the following areas: Restorative Care, Orientation Preceptor or pursuing Licensed Nurse status. Assists with quality management study groups, devising and testing new procedures, and assisting others with learning. To be able to prioritize your skills to meet the residents needs, in a calm professional manner. At the Shift Coordinator’s inscription, completes resident group assignments, including above tasks.

Preferred Skills

High School graduate or GED preferred. Be presently awarded and have successfully worked in a 64 hour or 80 hour per pay period scheduled Nurse Assistant position during the previous 6 consecutive months, Hours in a position scheduled for less, or hours in a relief position are not included in this month period). Current California Certified Nurse Assistant. Has attended or made-up all in-services as described in the in-service procedure, no more than two unscheduled absences during the previous 6 months, no disciplinary actions, including private counseling, or performance evaluation ratings lower than “3.” Repeat taking the Nurse Assistant skills test with a score of 95% or better. Satisfactorily complete training and testing for either restorative services, preceptor, which include informal supervision and instruction skills, or be enrolled in classes, included in Allan Hancock or Santa Barbara Community College, licensed nurse core curriculum.
