Critical Care Services
The Critical Care Unit is a team of licensed professionals who deliver optimal and compassionate care to all critically ill patients. With 6 state-of-the-art rooms we provide care for adult and pediatric patients alike. Patients requiring ventilation support, vasopressin drugs, thrombolytic agents, as well as cardiac monitoring are cared for in the Critical Care Unit.
The Critical Care Unit provides care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Nursing care, which is individualized for each patient, includes assessment and reassessment of patient and significant other in the physical, psychological and cognitive domain in all phases of patient care; planning for care after identifying needs from the assessment including coordination with appropriate disciplines required for patient/family during hospitalization and at discharge; implementing and documenting the plan of care; evaluating the patient's response to medical and nursing interventions; and working with the patient/family, physician and other health care providers to assure the discharge plan is best fitted to the assessed needs.
Staffing of the department consists of Registered Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants. The Critical Care Unit is staffed according to Department Health Services Title 22 regulation. We are committed to following the laws and regulations established by the California Nursing Practice Act and Regulations, JCAHO, DHS, Title 22 State Regulations, The Lippincott Manual of Nursing, LHD nursing Policy and Procedure Manual and the AACN Standards for Critical Care.
