Environmental Services Technician (R)
Under the supervision of the Director of Environmental Services. Works under general supervision to perform a variety of routine skilled cleaning tasks in assigned areas or projects. Mixes cleaning supplies, and maintains housekeeping cleaning equipment. The position is directed, supervised, evaluated and scheduled by the Environmental Services Director and department Lead staff. Must work well under stress or tight deadlines. Must work well with supervisors, co-workers, patients/residents, family members and visitors. Typical duties includes: Distribute clean linen and remove-soiled linen from halls. Clean and sanitizes residents rooms, bathrooms, showers, lobbies and offices. Performs dust mopping and light wet mopping. Dusts/clean furniture and equipment. Polishes metal work. Cleans and makes beds. Changes cubicle curtains. Cleans windows, window sills and screens. Maintains supplies in neat and orderly manner. Empties waste containers, ash trays, and infectious waste containers. Performs a variety of related tasks. May be assigned to a specific work area on a routine basis. Position competencies. Other duties assigned by supervisor.
Recent, successful, structured work experience, previous Healthcare facility or Motel experience preferred. Knowledge of the use of common cleaning tools, such as wet mops, vacuums and solutions. Ability to read, write and follow simple oral and written instructions. Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks in a dependable manner. Ability to perform tasks and establish priorities to accommodate interruptions. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach overhead and carry moderate loads
