The new Lompoc Valley Medical Center Hospital brings state-of-the-art design and technology to the residents of the district. This will allow the skilled professionals of the LVMC to do their jobs and provide even better care to the community. The facility is designed primarily for optimal patient care, from the layout of the departments, the type of flooring and lighting, to the equipment installed. However, with all new things comes change.

After what seemed like months of stagnation, the new hospital is back on the fast track. Actually, a tremendous amount of work was going on inside that was not visible. The heating, ventilation, cooling, medical gases and electrical needed to be completed prior to installing sheetrock on the walls.

As the spring of 2010 approaches the Lompoc's Replacement Hospital is making more and more progress every day. Construction of the inpatient facility's interior is in full swing as we see work on its exterior all but complete. And as the exterior of the new inpatient facility nears completion, the interior of the new outpatient facility has made equal strides with nearly all of the hardware, wiring, tiling and lighting complete. Take a look and the photo gallery to see just how much progress the interior of the outpatient facility has made.

There is more progress happening at the new Lompoc Valley Medical Center hospital. Our new MRI machine arrived this morning and is being installed in the new Radiology section of the outpatient facility.

A loan of more than $4 million will help outfit the new Lompoc Valley Medical Center as it approaches completion, though fundraising activities will be needed to pay it back. The loan, facilitated by the Office of Statewide Heath Planning and Development (OSHPD), will allow the Lompoc Healthcare District to outfit the new facility, which is scheduled to begin operation in February, 2010.
