Perioperative Services

Perioperative Services offered at Lompoc Valley Medical Center are comprehensive, providing services in various specialties. Advanced technology is provided 24 hours a day for various patient populations from infant to geriatric. Our goal is to support patients throughout all phases of the surgical experience; pre-induction, intraoperative and postoperative. Our staff is committed to providing professional and quality care to our patients and their families.

The scope and complexity of patients' care needs met by the Perioperative Department include minor and major surgical procedures, assisting with pain management, and endoscopic procedures. The department utilizes contracted technical support for lithotripsy, pacemaker insertions, radiologic procedures and Anesthetics. Staffing in the department consists of RN's, ORT's, & Anesthetists/Anesthesiologists who are available from 5:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with on-call coverage provided after hours 7 days/week.

The level of care and services provided meet our patients needs by providing all surgical procedures excluding major cardiovascular and neurovascular procedures. The standards &/or practice guidelines utilized by this department include AORN, ASPAN, JCAHO, Title 22, OSHA.
