Radiation therapy has played an important role in the treatment of cancer for more than a century. Technology has improved throughout the years and the delivery of radiation has become more precise. Dr. Tait and other radiation oncologists are now able to deliver higher doses of radiation more safely. Dr. Tait will speak about how advancements in radiation therapy ultimately reduce treatment-related side effects and improve cancer survival.

Carol was born, raised and educated in San Diego. She moved to Lompoc in 2002 when her husband Linual accepted the position of Fire Chief for the City of Lompoc. In Lompoc, she has been involved in the Lompoc Valley Children Auxiliary, raising money for disadvantaged children. She is a member of P.E.O., which supports the advancement of young women through higher education. She also volunteers her time at the Lompoc YMCA and since 2015 has served on its Community Advisory Board. Carol has five children and nine grandchildren.
