Dr. Bounoua is a board-certified general surgeon and performs laparoscopic bariatric surgeries. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and completed her internship and residency at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Dr. Bounoua held a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Weight Loss Surgery at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Her specialties include bariatric surgery, gastric bypass, hiatal hernia, appendectomy, colorectal cancer, and inguinal hernia. She speaks English, French, and Spanish.
Dr. Taglia was born and raised in New York City. During his medical education, he was active in global health outreach, performing and conducting research in South America. Dr. Taglia completed his residency in general surgery at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, with work in general surgery, trauma, laparoscopy, and endoscopy. His specialties include advanced laparoscopic surgery, weight-loss surgery, endoscopy, anti-reflux surgery, and hernia repair.
Cristina Ortega has held numerous clinical positions in nursing since 2007, including positions at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and as an Intensive Care Unit nurse.
She also has experience as a Home Health Supervisor and in case management. She began her career at LVMC in 2018 as an Emergency Room nurse and has also been in the House Supervisor role since mid-2019.
She earned her Associate of Science in nursing at Santa Barbara City College.
Hayley works closely with both inpatient and outpatient services and is also involved in nutrition education outreach. Hayley holds a bachelor's degree in Nutrition Science with a concentration in Dietetics from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She also earned an associate degree in Biological and Biomedical Sciences at Santa Barbara City College.
Christine is a Lompoc native, she was a school Social Worker for the Family Service Agency in Santa Barbara. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Community and Regional Development at the University of California at Davis and her Master of Science degree in Social Work from the Columbia University.
Dr. Raoufi is a graduate of the Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran. He finished his Family Practice residency at East Tennessee State University. He also completed an Internal Medicine residency program at the University of California at San Francisco, in Fresno. He completed a fellowship at UCSF/Fresno in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
Dr. Gul is a cardiovascular disease specialist affiliated with LVMC. Dr. Gul graduated from the Universidad De Santiago De Chile. He completed his residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center and a UCLA Harbor Medical Center fellowship. He is licensed in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease with the American Board of Internal Medicine. He holds a California State Medical License.
