What motivates you?: My children. I have a 14-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son. I’m a single mom. I want to provide for them. I always tell them, if I can’t give you more than I had when I was a child, I can at least give you what I had. We always had clothes and food on the table.

People would be surprised to know this about me: That I was born in Santa Barbara and moved to Mexico at age 11. I returned to the U.S. when I was 29 and moved to Lompoc. People think I’m from Mexico.

What you like about working in healthcare: I like helping people. Ever since I was 13, this was something I wanted to do. I always knew it. When I was with EVS, I always wanted to help the residents. Now I can help. In the future, I would like to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
