Lompoc Valley Medical Center’s skilled nursing facility, the Comprehensive Care Center, is seeking job applicants for its Nursing Assistant Training Program beginning June 20, 2022.
This opportunity gives applicants a diverse and comprehensive education as a Certified Nursing Assistant which can lead to a career path to an advanced nursing career.
At the conclusion of the course, these students will complete a state CNA certification examination. Upon passage of the examination, applicants will be eligible for employment at the CCC, earning competitive wages as Certified Nursing Assistants.
Applicants must be a high school graduate, or equivalent with a GED and at least 18 years old.
Applicants may be called for an interview and if chosen for the program, must pass a physical exam which includes a drug screen, background check, provide two references, and documentation of ability to legally work for LVMC, along with COVID-19 vaccination status.
Students must attend three mandatory days of classes each week of the program for 8 weeks, completing 160 hours of Theory and Clinical education.
The program classes will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The program is limited to 15 applicants.
During on-site classroom training, students will learn all aspects of patient care, through lectures and via hands-on demonstrations. Students will then have clinical training, providing care directly to residents in the facility.
