COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic, Friday Sept. 9

LVMC will hold its next COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic from 3 to 6 pm on Friday, Sept. 9, in the Ocean's Seven Cafe at the hospital.

The Food and Drug Administration has approved an emergency use authorization of the updated, bivalent COVID-19 booster, to combat the omicron sub-variants, BA.4 and BA.5. Since the State's MyTurn portal may not have the bivalent booster option listed to make an appointment, walk-ins for the booster will be available on Friday. Other appointments may be made at myturn.ca.gov. Booster shots may be given two months after the completion of the most recent vaccine series or a previous booster shot.

Both Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech boosters are available at LVMC. The Moderna doses are acceptable for people 18 years and older. The Pfizer is available for people 12 years and older.
