LVMC Announces Confirmed COVID-19 Case

As of 9:30 am Thursday, March 26, Lompoc Valley Medical Center was notified by the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department that one of our screened patients tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The patient was not hospitalized and is in self-quarantine. Santa Barbara County Public Health Department staff are monitoring the status of the patient, as it is with all other Santa Barbara County COVID-19 positive patients.

LVMC Changes Laboratory Appointment Process Due to COVID-19

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, Lompoc Valley Medical Center and Lompoc Health are putting in place new rules concerning laboratory appointments. The temporary changes are being made to help limit interactions between patients and staff, to adhere to CDC-recommended social distancing, and to reduce the likelihood of community spread of COVID-19. They will be in place until further notice.

Santa Barbara County Public Health Releases Coronavirus Disease (COVID 19) Information Portal for Community

(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) – The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department (PHD) released a new information portal to augment its current website in response to Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The new COVID-19 website is located at http://PublicHealthSBC.org with information available in English and Spanish. The site features daily status reports, general information about coronavirus, prevention tips, frequently asked questions, and links to information released by the California Department of Public Health Department (CDPH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

In order to protect the health of our community, the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department has issued a declaration of a local health emergency and health officer order for the postponement and cancellation of events, as indicated below, as well as social distancing measures.
