This week our CEO updates the community on our COVID-19 vaccination of community members and COVID-19 hospitalizations.

Vaccination Update

While we continue to vaccinate the remaining individuals in the highest tier, on Wednesday, January 13, LVMC will begin vaccinating members of the public who are 75 years of age or older.  We will first be coordinating with Lompoc Health primary care physicians to identify and schedule applicable individuals.  Then, we will continue our coordination efforts with other area primary care physicians whose patients may not have access to vaccination through the County vaccination program or another hospital system.

1941 - After nearly 15 years of work, the Mount Rushmore National Memorial in the Black Hills of South Dakota was completed. The colossal sculpture features the heads of Presidents George WashingtonThomas JeffersonTheodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln.
1974Muhammad Ali regained the heavyweight title by knocking out George Foreman in the eighth round during the fight billed as the "Rumble in the Jungle.” (It would be ironic if he knocked out George Foreman by punching him in the “grill.”)
2003 – basketball player LeBron James, who was drafted directly out of high school, made his NBA debut with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
