New Policy Regarding Distribution of Medical Records
Effective April 9, 2020
Due to the onset of the COVID-19 virus and in order to adhere to restrictions put in place by the California Department of Public Health to prevent the spread of the disease, Lompoc Valley Medical Center (LVMC) and Lompoc Health are requesting patients to refrain from seeking the release of their medical records in person.

Lompoc Health COVID-19 Update and TeleVisits
We want to update you on the latest information regarding COVID-19, as well as provide our best recommendations to prevent the spread of the virus, based upon guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other organizations. Please keep in mind that the guidance and recommendations from these organizations continue to evolve and are subject to change. Also, we’re pleased to announce Lompoc Health patients now have access to TeleVisits with many of our providers.

Below, please find an update regarding the COVID-19 situation from the Lompoc Valley Medical Center perspective. I intend to provide updates weekly, or as needed.

LVMC Announces Confirmed COVID-19 Case
As of 9:30 am Thursday, March 26, Lompoc Valley Medical Center was notified by the Santa Barbara County Public Health Department that one of our screened patients tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. The patient was not hospitalized and is in self-quarantine. Santa Barbara County Public Health Department staff are monitoring the status of the patient, as it is with all other Santa Barbara County COVID-19 positive patients.

Community Update Regarding COVID-19
Dear Lompoc Valley Community,
The administration and staff of Lompoc Valley Medical Center, Lompoc Health and the Comprehensive Care Center are thankful for the outpouring of support in recent days for our healthcare workers. Our highest priority is the health and safety of our community members, our medical staff and our employees.

LVMC Changes Laboratory Appointment Process Due to COVID-19
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, Lompoc Valley Medical Center and Lompoc Health are putting in place new rules concerning laboratory appointments. The temporary changes are being made to help limit interactions between patients and staff, to adhere to CDC-recommended social distancing, and to reduce the likelihood of community spread of COVID-19. They will be in place until further notice.
