Do you want to have a say at Lompoc Valley Medical Center? Now’s your chance. For the first time, LVMC is creating a new venue for community members to help guide the hospital in its efforts to ensure the focus of healthcare is centered on the patient and the family.

Lompoc Valley Medical Center announces the formation of a new Patient and Family Advisory Council, a group designed to forge a strong partnership between its healthcare professionals and the community.

Three unique homes and one senior day center, each beautifully decorated for the winter holidays, are set for touring Sunday, Dec. 13, for the Lompoc Hospital Foundation’s annual Holiday Home Tour and Candlelight Tea.

A special thanks to all who donated and raised money for the Lompoc Hospital Foundation Colorthon. The foundation's first Colorthon event on Saturday October 24 raised $10,766, with 326 people registered for the 5K run and walk. The funds will be used to renovate rooms at the Comprehensive Care Center (CCC). 

In its ongoing efforts to support the Lompoc Valley Medical Center and to promote healthcare in the Lompoc Valley community, the Lompoc Hospital Foundation will be hosting a "Colorthon" on October 24. The community are welcome to attend the event held at River Park in Lompoc, CA.

Seniors practicing Activities of Daily Life

As part of the renovation of the Comprehensive Care Center, a new Occupational Therapy transitional kitchen was recently installed. Renovations, including a new physical therapy gym and a Skilled Nursing resident dining room, are paid for through a $400,000 Lompoc Hospital Foundation donation.

All facets of the healthcare delivery system were anxiously waiting for the U.S. Supreme Court decision on whether they would uphold the federal subsidies to 34 states that did not develop a state-run health exchange.  The courts’ decision was announced on June 25, 2015, and favored the Obama administration by upholding federal subsidies for those 34 states.
