Breast Screening, October Special
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Lompoc Valley Medical Center will be offering a $130 special in October, which includes a 3D Mammography exam, physician interpretation, and computer-assisted diagnosis.
The special is for a screening mammogram only; patients with existing symptoms do not qualify.
In Order to Receive the Special
- You must visit their physician for a breast exam and screening mammogram order. Ask your physician to write “October SSM” on the mammogram order. or during scheduling.
- Or, mention you would like the "October Special" when scheduling your screening with our Imaging staff.
The mammograms will be conducted at Lompoc Valley Medical Center: Laboratory & Imaging at 1111 E. Ocean Ave., Suite 2. Payment must be exact cast amount or by check and paid the day of the screening.
A new service at LVMC offers patients access to three-dimensional imaging technology for mammograms. The GE SenoClaire breast tomosynthesis machine provides improved accuracy in finding the shape, size, and location of any irregularities in the breast.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
According to the American Cancer Society, 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in their lifetimes, with more than 246,660 cases are expected to be diagnosed this year in the U.S., along with 61,000 new cases of non-invasive breast cancer.
