CCC Accepting Applications for CNA Training Course

Lompoc Valley Medical Center's skilled nursing facility, the Comprehensive Care Center, is seeking applicants now for its Nursing Assistant Training Program. The program begins in early October.
The training program gives applicants the diverse and comprehensive education needed to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. At the conclusion of the course, students will complete a state CNA certification examination. The course ends in early December.
Applicants must be a high school graduate or equivalent with a GED and at least 18 years old.
If chosen for the program, applicants must pass a number of requirements, including a drug screen, background check, providing two references and a other documents.
Those accepted into the program will apply for open CNA positions at the Comprehensive Care Center upon successful completion of the program and passage of the state exam.
Students must attend three mandatory days of classes each week of the program for eight weeks, completing 160 hours of Theory and Clinical education.
During on-site classroom training, students learn all aspects of patient care, through lectures and via hands-on demonstrations. Students receive clinical training, providing care directly to residents in the facility.
During the course, the students will learn how to assist CCC residenets with personal hygiene and meals, take vital signs, collect specimens, monitor food and liquid intake of residents, motivate residents to be active, assist with lifting and transferring, monitor changes in residents’ status and more.
