LVMC’s Vision Statement reads: “Lompoc Valley Medical Center, in collaboration with physicians, caregivers, and the community, is recognized as a leader in a coordinated healthcare delivery system through the provision of superior quality services in a healing environment. We plan for and act to produce an ever-improving healthy future for those whom we serve.”
Recent decisions to partner with physicians at the former Valley Medical Group (now LVMC Physician Services) validate how we remain laser-focused on complying with our Vision statement and providing our community superior quality services and to always look and act to improve the healthcare environment in our community.
Everyone acknowledges healthcare is going through very significant changes with the passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and now discussions of repealing and replacing the ACA. Regardless of your position or the outcome of actions in Washington, D.C., people in our community will still need the services of quality physicians, an acute care hospital, long-term care services and a quality place to seek treatment for chemical or alcohol dependency.
All the current turmoil in health care, and potential changes has resulted in physicians and hospitals looking to each other to stabilize a very unstable environment. The future key to success for both physicians and hospitals is to work closely together to provide timely and quality services.
A year ago, we met with the physicians at Valley Medical Group to discuss how VMG and LVMC might better address the future of healthcare in the Lompoc Valley. We agreed that we are better positioned if we partner rather than remain essentially independent. We are very proud to have cemented our new relationship with the quality physicians at the new LVMC Physician Services. During
the transition, we had similar discussions with Dr. Rod Huss in Obstetrics and Dr. Gil Andersen in Internal Medicine. Both are now practicing at the Physician Services of ces. Finally, we are pleased to announce Dr. Katherine Remington, in Pediatrics, has also joined Physician Services. Some cosmetic changes are coming as well, but be assured the quality services provided by the physicians and physician assistants and staff will not change.
