Lompoc Valley Medical Center is proud to introduce Dr. Mohammad Tabek Bakir, MD our newest peditrician to join our Physicians Services office. Dr. Bakir earned his undergraduate degree in biology from the California State University at Northridge and took master’s level courses in biology from CSU Northridge. Dr. Bakir earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica in 2014. He worked as a Head Teaching Assistant at CSU Northridge.

Anna Cooley spends most of her days in bed or a wheelchair, not speaking and locked in the isolation of Alzheimer’s disease. The 82-year-old lives at the Comprehensive Care Center, where staff works to engage her by talking to her and involving her in activities. Most of the time, she is withdrawn and stranded in her mind.

Just after 8 a.m. Friday, March. 2, 2018, a suspicious item was found in a patient room in the Medical-Surgical Department of Lompoc Valley Medical Center: Hospital. The Lompoc Police Department was called to investigate. The initial assessment was that the item was a low-level risk. The item was contained in an area away from any patients or staff.

Naomi Rainfeather Graham didn’t break the state’s birthweight record, but her arrival today at Lompoc Valley Medical Center: Hospital did cause some excitement. Naomi came squalling into the world at 12:29 pm weighing a significant 11 pounds, 14 ounces – or almost three pounds larger than OBGYN Dr. Rodney Huss, MD initially estimated she might weigh.
