Lompoc Valley Medical Center is pleased to announce that effective Monday, Oct. 3, it has transitioned staff management of its Emergency Department to Premier Health Partners, Inc. and its Hospital Medicine Program to ApolloMed.

Glendale-based Premier Health Partners provides physician staffing for numerous Emergency Departments in California.

Considered a “Partner for Excellence in Emergency Medicine,” the firm notes that it has greater physician allegiance and commitment to its hospital partners.

ApolloMed, also based in Glendale, will provide comprehensive Hospital Medicine (hospitalists) at the acute hospital. ApolloMed and the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC) recently announced the launch of the USC Hospitalist Leadership Fellowship Program at ApolloMed.

Under the terms of the ApolloMed agreement, ApolloMed will partner with the hospital administration, medical staff, nurses and case managers to enhance clinical core measures scores, improve clinical documentation, optimize lengths of stay, reduce hospital readmissions and to enhance patient satisfaction scores.

LVMC had previously contracted for both Emergency Department and Hospital Medicine physicians with the Dallas-based EmCare.

“We are excited to be working with both Premier Health Partners and ApolloMed,” said LVMC CEO Jim Raggio. “Both organizations share LVMC’s commitment to providing excellent care to our community and have been extremely responsive to our needs.”

Premier Health Partners and ApolloMed are both contracted with all health plans – something that EmCare did not offer to LVMC.
