Registration Open For Nov. 2 Colorthon Fundraiser

Pre-registration is now open and sponsorships are being sought for the 2024 Lompoc Hospital District Foundation Colorthon 5K at the Mission Club in Vandenberg Village on Nov. 2, 2024. 

The popular family friendly fundraising event will begin with registration at 8 a.m. in the club parking lot, though pre-registration options are available. 

Registrations and sponsorships will help the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation raise funds to purchase a wheelchair-accessible paratransit van for the Comprehensive Care Center.  

The event is open to runners, walkers and joggers of all ages. At the Colorthon, participants will run or walk a pre-arranged 5K course through a series of “color stations” where volunteers will toss colored powder, or cornstarch, at runners. 

Everyone will start off together, moving at their own pace through various “color stations.” The event is not timed. 

Pre-registration is open for sign-ups as individuals, a family or in a group, at  lhdfoundation.org/color. Pre-registration cost is $30 for each adult; $25 each for a Team of 4 and $15 each for participants ages 12 to 5. Children younger than 5 will be admitted free with a parent or guardian but will not receive an event t-shirt. Pre-registration closes Oct. 25. 

Registration will also be available on the day of the event, but pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Day of registration costs are $35 per adult, $30 each for a Team of 4 and $15 for children ages 12 to 5. 

Military discounts are available for active duty, retired or reserve U.S. military members and families. 

Numerous sponsorship levels are also available, from $200 trail sign sponsorship to various levels of sponsorship from $1,000 to $10,000. 

On the day of the event, carpooling is strongly recommended. Also, Clubhouse Road will be closed for a short period of time immediately after the event begins. 

On the day of the event, check-in begins at 8 a.m. and will end promptly at 8:45 a.m. The 5K begins at 9 a.m.
