Learn more about what we are fundraising for and the impact your contribution could make on our community.
We are currently fundraising to support the following causes:
We raised funds to purchase new equipment and materials for Lompoc Valley Medical Center's Rehabilitation Services Department. The new equipment will drastically improve the department's ability to care for patients of all functional levels effectively and efficiently.
The following causes have been successfully funded thanks to the generosity of our community and the dedication of our volunteers.
We raised funds to help purchase a new advanced MRI for Lompoc Valley Medical Center. MRI diagnostics are used to diagnose and monitor a very wide variety of conditions, so the number of patients who need them is steadily increasing.
We raised money to purchase eight patient monitoring systems for the hospital’s
Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PAC-U). With your help, this donation will
enable LVMC to provide clinical staff with vital bedside equipment for
advanced monitoring of patients following surgical procedures.
After 10 years as an artistic showpiece at the entrance to LVMC, a colorful
mural depicting the History of Medicine in the Lompoc Valley has gotten
a makeover.
The new equipment is being used in the Operating Room and at a patient’s bedside. Called a “C-Arm” because of its distinctive curved look, it is used for fracture repairs that require surgery, such as hip, ankle, wrist or hand fractures; for gallbladder surgery; for specific endoscopic procedures and for spinal surgery, among others.
We raised funds to assist LVMC to finance the purchase of property on Ocean Avenue for the new Radiation Oncology Center. We are very proud to support this much needed project and pleased it was opened in the first quarter of 2014.
The MRI Breast Computer Assisted Device and its software is designed to improve on the sensitivity of mammography.
Raised: $2M
Members of the Lompoc Hospital District Foundation are actively raising money to help give the 110-bed Comprehensive Care Center a major makeover. The foundation is now more than a year into its capital campaign toward the much-anticipated renovation project. Foundation President Alice Milligan is reaching out into the community to urge donations to the $1.5 million campaign, noting that most of the rooms have not been remodeled since the building opened more than 40 years ago.
Raised: $4M
In 2005, more than 87 percent of the district voters approved the issuance of general obligation bonds not to exceed $74.5 million for the construction of the new state-of-the-art hospital at 1515 E. Ocean Ave. The 60-bed general acute care hospital opened in June 2010. But while the bond paid for the construction of the hospital, state law prohibits bond money from behind used to purchase moveable furniture or equipment.
Raised: $1.4M
Three-phased 3,950-square-foot expansion. Estimated cost $1.4 million. The expansion and modernization included eight patient treatment areas. Those areas encompass two trauma and cardiac units; an orthopedic area; an emergency radiology suite; greater visibility of patients by physician and nursing staff; patient and staff privacy and security; ear, nose and throat treatment rooms; obstetrics and gynecology and observation rooms; an improved and comfortable family lobby; separate walk-in and ambulance entrances; monitoring equipment and technology. Project completed in December 1992.
