The committee sponsors several health-related lectures each spring and fall, as well as publishes news articles on Foundation events. Committee members provide input on topics to be presented as well as serving as hosts at the events.
The Community Education and Public Relations Committee shall plan and establish an educational program that will provide information to the citizens of the District on current health care topics and available healthcare services. It shall promote, in a positive manner, the purpose and goals of the Foundation and the mission of the Hospital District.
Only Trustees, members of the Foundation, and District representatives may become a member of the committee. A minimum of five (5) members are needed to fulfill the responsibilities of the committee.
For the members of the committee to be knowledgeable on all facets of the Community Education and Public Relations program, members should participate in the preparation of promotional material.
The committee will also work to establish an ongoing health education series that will encourage members of the community to become more knowledgeable about healthcare topics.
To obtain broad community support through public interest groups, the creation, and management of a Speakers’ Bureau is also a prime requisite of the committee.
