Preoperative Consultation (Before Your Surgery)
We understand that surgery – whether minor or major – can be an overwhelming prospect for our patients and their families. You will have time to ask as many questions as you want during your appointment with your surgeon. Learning about the process and procedures may alleviate much of your stress. It may be difficult to remember all the important questions you want to ask, so we suggest getting prepared by making a list.
Postoperative Consultation (After Your Surgery)
A certain amount of discomfort is expected after any surgery. However, should you experience any difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest pain or other emergency symptoms, call 911 immediately. Our staff is available to help you understand whether your symptoms are normal. After hours you can reach your surgeon by calling the after hours number (805) 875-1508.

About General Surgeons
The term “General Surgeon” is a term that can be a bit misleading. Among the medical profession, the term means "a highly trained specialist" not a “generalist.” “General Surgery” refers to a surgical specialty that focuses on the abdominal organs.
