Having diabetes doesn't mean you have to give up your favorite foods or stop eating in restaurants. The key is to understand how foods affect your blood sugar and focus on eating nutrient-dense foods. This class will teach you how to manage your blood sugar while maintaining a diet you enjoy.
For guidance and education about nutrition and diabetes, LVMC offers this free Diabetes Management Class from 5:30 to 6:30 pm on the first Tuesday of every month in the hospital board room. The session is led by an LVMC registered dietitian. LVMC also offers a nutrition education seminar from 6 to 7 pm on the first Wednesday of each month, aimed at those considering weight loss surgery or needing a healthier nutritional path.
