Quality Imaging Procedures in Lompoc
The reason we continue to invest in the latest imaging and radiology equipment
is two-fold. One, these new, noninvasive methods allow for more comfort
for our patients, with many returning to daily activities after the procedure.
Secondly, this technology continues to offer stronger and clearer images,
allowing us to diagnose much smaller abnormalities than in the past, meaning
you can get the treatment you need faster.
Our diagnostic imaging procedures include:
-
Bone Densitometry (DEXA): Also known as dual-energy X-ray absorption, this painless test is designed
to identify bone disorders and is often used to diagnose osteopenia and
osteoporosis.
-
Computed Tomography (CT Scan): This non-invasive procedure uses X-ray technology to take a series of
photos from multiple angles to create a clear view of your body’s
internal structures, such as bones, soft tissues, and blood vessels.
-
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI): Similar to a CT scan, MRI machines take pictures of internal structures,
including bones, organs, blood vessels, and soft tissue. However, this
technology uses a magnetic field and radio waves to create the images,
allowing it to create far more detailed pictures.
-
Breast Tomosynthesis: Digital breast tomography (DBT) and 3D mammography allow radiologists
to see through dense breast tissue with more clarity, resulting in improved
detection for breast cancer screenings.
-
Nuclear Medicine: Used to diagnose and treat certain illnesses, nuclear medicine utilizes
a radiotracer, which emits energy in the form of gamma rays that are detected
by a probe. The scans created by the probe show how the tracer is absorbed.
-
Ultrasound: This imaging technology uses sound waves to create pictures of the inside
of your body—allowing physicians to see your organs, muscles, tissues,
and other structures.
-
X-Ray & Fluoroscopy: Both of these technologies use radiation to produce images of the inside
of your body. However, fluoroscopy creates a video, allowing your physician
to view your internal structures in real-time.
No matter the type of imaging you need, you can trust our skilled professionals
to deliver the quality diagnostics needed for accurate treatment.
